Nick Wins Basket Makers Award, Launching a New Chapter at Cockpit Arts

In May 2024, Nick was honoured with the Basket Makers Award at Cockpit Arts, presented by the Worshipful Company of Basket Makers. This exciting accolade grants him a dedicated studio space for a year, along with exclusive access to Cockpit’s renowned Business Incubation Program—a launchpad for exceptional craft talent.

Cockpit Arts is an award-winning creative hub, home to over 175 independent makers in London. With studios in Bloomsbury and Deptford, it fosters innovation by providing affordable workspace and expert business support, bridging the gap between creativity and opportunity.

Nick received the award for his exquisite work in woven tree bark, a practice he has honed for over two decades. While he has long shared his expertise through teaching and craftsmanship, this new chapter at Cockpit Arts will allow him to refine his craft, explore fresh design directions, and elevate his work to new heights.
